One year ago, I launched this podcast on my 42nd birthday with a disclaimer, a shaky voice, and a deep desire to stop undervaluing myself. This week as I step into my 43rd year, I'm reflecting on what it means to begin again, to stop comparing, to trust your voice, and to make bold moves even when you're unsure. This episode is raw, honest, and deeply personal. It's not just about my story. It's about yours too. Because you're allowed to be a beginner. You're allowed to not have it all figured out, and you're always worth investing in. Tune in to hear my journey from not ready to, I'm showing up anyway is the real magic. To begin. Welcome to MilesFromHerView, the podcast powered by KatFit Strength, where busy women like you find practical solutions to fuel your fitness journey with authenticity and resilience. I'm Kat, your host, a mom of two active boys, a business owner, and an ultra marathon runner and a strength trainer in her forties with nearly two decades of experience. I'm here to help you cut through the noise of fads, hacks, and quick fixes. This is a space where we celebrate womanhood and motherhood. All while building strength and resilience and reconnecting with you from a place of self-compassion and worthiness. Whether you're lacing up your running shoes to go out for a run, driving your kids to practice or squeezing in a moment for yourself, I'm right here in the trenches with you. Let's dive in. This week's episode is a little bit different, so welcome to MilesFromHerView. I'm Kat, your host, and if you are, have been a long time listener. You probably have a good idea who I am. If you are new and tuning in, welcome. I am super excited to have you here. And this, like I said, episode is gonna be a little bit different than a normal episode. It's the one year anniversary of launching the podcast, and I wanna share with you some deep, real, raw experiences so there's no guest,, expert today. No quick tips, just me. One mic, one message. So a year ago today, I released the first episode of this podcast on my 42nd birthday. I had no idea what I was doing so much, so I started every episode with a disclaimer, no flashy quote, no polished opener, just a little statement stating, I don't have it figured out, but I'm learning, and basically I'm gonna show up anyway. That moment. It was more than just a podcast intro. It was a promise to myself, to the women I serve, to the version of me that I had been undervaluing, you know, for years. That disclaimer. It was vulnerability. It set the tone for everything that followed because we don't talk enough about what it means to begin again, to be a learner, to be a woman who says, I don't know how yet, but I'm willing to try. And honestly, that's how a lot of my clients feel when they come to me. They're strong, smart, and capable, but when it comes to their bodies, their movement, their energy, they've been taught, they're supposed to already know that. They should already have it all figured out. But here's the truth. You're allowed to be a beginner. You're allowed to not know what to do in the gym. You're allowed to be unsure. Still be worthy of support and you don't have to earn that support by being perfect, just like I didn't need to earn the A platform before being perfectly polished. Now, here's the thing. I have been doing this a long time. I have been in the industry for two decades in the fitness world and coaching world. I worked with athletes. I coach college, track and field built programs from the ground up. I've trained women through pregnancy, postpartum, and perimenopause. I've studied anatomy, movement, breath, mindset, performance. I'm an ultra marathon runner, a strength coach, a business owner, a mom of two boys, but more than that. I am a woman who is still evolving, still learning, and still stepping into her voice. And the reason I share both my credentials and my mess is because you deserve to, to know that you don't have to choose between being knowledgeable and being real. You can be both and you already are. So as I step into my 43rd year of life, I've made a decision to be bolder, to value myself more fully, to stop shrinking in rooms I belong in. To own my voice matters, not after I edited myself into perfection. But as I am now, because I am worth investing in, and so are you. This podcast was never about popularity or algorithms. It's about truth, about clearing the air because there are too many programs, products, and polished marketing schemes out there that prey on women, especially mothers, keeping them small, quiet, overworked, and guilt-ridden. You don't need another distraction. You need to come home to yourself. To the woman behind the title and that that's. What my work is all about. When a woman walks into one of my programs, she's not just another client. She's not just a mom looking to get her body back. She is a full human with history, habits, heartbreak, and hope. And my job is to meet her where she is without shame to see her before any progress photos. Which we do not take in my programs to listen to coach from a place of respect and not restriction because the real goal isn't six pack abs or being good every day. The real goal. Is to live more fully, to move without pain, to eat without guilt, to feel stronger, not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. So here is what I want you to know as we celebrate this one year milestone. You don't need to have it all figured out. You don't need to earn worthiness. You don't need to compare your chapter one to somebody else's Chapter 20. You are allowed to begin again in your fitness, in your mindset, in your story, and especially in how you value yourself this next year. For me, it's about bolder moves deeper conversations and more impact, and I want that for you too. So take a deep breath, let go of the shame. Let go of the distractions and ask yourself, what would it feel like to finally invest in you? Not the perfectly curated version, but the real evolving, powerful woman behind the scenes, because she's always been enough and she's just getting started. Thank you for being here with me.
